About The Position

TRC is currently seeking a Senior Professional Engineer to support our Solid Waste projects with our Southeast Engineering and Remediation team. The role involves engineering design, team support, and project management on a variety of waste resources engineering projects, including landfill design, permitting, stormwater design, and leachate system management. The engineer will also be responsible for landfill gas collection and control system design, facility siting, construction management, and the design of renewable energy systems related to landfills. The position requires collaboration with a diverse range of clients and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer License in Virginia required within six months
• North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida licenses are a plus and may be required in the future
• 7+ years of experience in site planning, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, drainage design, grading plans
• 5+ years of landfill design and permitting experience is required
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required
• Excellent technical/computer skills required
• Ability to work in a team environment and on multiple projects at the same time required
• Mentor and train junior staff
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Engineering design, team support, and project management on a variety of waste resources engineering projects
• Landfill design, landfill permitting, stormwater design, wetland permitting, leachate system design, management, and treatment
• Landfill gas collection and control system design including active gas systems
• Management, blower/flair station, plant operations system troubleshooting and well field tuning, title V emissions reporting
• Facility siting, design, and construction management for landfills, transfer stations, convenience centers, materials recovery facilities, composting facilities
• Landfill capacity analysis, facility/landfill financial assurance, odor assessment and mitigation, tracer gas studies, ambient air monitoring
• Solid waste facility operations
• Construction management and quality assurance
• Design of landfill based renewable energy systems including solar and wind energy, landfill gas to energy systems
• Other waste to energy technologies including anaerobic digestion and biogas
