The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation. Whirlpool is currently seeking a Sr Analyst, Engineering within our Product Transformation organization to join the North American Region (NAR) Manufacturing team. This position will lead projects at our Manufacturing (MFG) locations based on North America product execution plans. Please note, this position will be located in Marion, Ohio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Advanced technical degree or engineering certifications, such as Black Belt
  • Experience in leading project teams from inception through completion, with direct responsibility for execution of vertical start-up

  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Product Development processes

  • Experience in applying technical knowledge to solve a range of problems
  • Strong Computer skills, such as Google Workspace and SmartSheets

Responsibilities

  • MFG lead for all MFG requirements to support new product launches into the MFG footprint, including creation & management of project scope, schedule, budget, reviews, and deliverables
  • MFG lead representative on project core teams
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, consumer design, product design, quality, procurement, safety, MFG engineering/ support, and materials teams to ensure all deliverables are understood and met
  • Engineering builds planning & execution between MFG and engineering teams
  • Ensure readiness of Early Product Containment activity management (led by quality)
  • Plans and prepares MFG to establish the lead time of production operations to meet shipping dates
  • MFG voice input to Bill of Materials (BOM) and component status
  • Facilitate factory analysis, including capacity, equipment footprint, material flow/ storage, labor/cost roll-up, asset reuse, and CAPEX submission
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing & office environment, walking long distances, stand on feet for long periods of time, minor lifting (generally 30lbs or less)
  • 15% travel (Domestic)
