About The Position

Shield AIâs Manufacturing Team is looking for a Sr. Material Flow Engineer to join us. You will have the responsibility to develop and optimize Shield AIâs warehousing and material flow operations for best-in-class quality, reliability, speed, and asset utilization. This role involves using lean material flow principles, data analytics, problem solving, and modeling, to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of all materials.

Requirements

Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, preferably working directly on material flow engineering solutions
Ability to read technical documentation such as drawings and CAD data

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated leadership driving projects from concept to completion
Experience with material handling equipment and packaging design and implementation
Experience with factory design and set up
Experience with value stream mapping, continuous flow, single piece flow, and workstation design
Understanding of a variety of hardware manufacturing processes for both electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, etc.) and structures, mechanical components, and electromechanical systems

Responsibilities

Develop and implement layouts for material flow and storage to achieve targeted inventory levels for new and existing facilities. Ensure that storage strategies are aligned across the supply chain.
Design and implement strategies for efficient material flow from receipt to production lineside and any reverse logistics required. Use value stream mapping to ensure end-to-end process optimization.
Develop packaging solutions for use inside Shield AI facilities and between suppliers. Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure packages are optimized for efficiency, part safety, and logistics density.
Create capacity models to ensure we have adequate storage solutions.
