As part of a dynamic group of researchers and engineers, you’ll collaborate on innovative projects that transform computational and AI research into insights and breakthrough discoveries of new material. As a Sr. Engineer in the Samsung Display America Lab, you'll immerse yourself in an environment that values creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge experimentation—working alongside experts who are as passionate about technology and science as you are. The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field, with expertise in computational materials science and ML algorithm development. The candidate should have a strong background in code development and a deep understanding of electronic structures and the morphology of organic materials. Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose, CA office / U.S. headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a relevant field, or Master's in Science in a field with 3+ years of professional experiences or Bachelor's degree in a field with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience in research on optoelectronic properties and reactions of organic semiconducting materials.
  • Experience in modeling and/or simulation of the surface and/or interface reactions.
  • Expertise with the atomistic level of computational simulations, including ab-initio Quantum Chemistry, first-principles Density Functional Theory, Classical Molecular Dynamics, etc.
  • Experience in developing AI/ML algorithm for materials research.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple interdisciplinary teams of researchers and engineers to develop next-generation materials related to next-generation display technology.
  • Develop and refine simulation platforms by integrating state-of-the-art tools and methodologies, ensuring robustness and scalability of research outputs.
  • Integrate advanced data analytics frameworks to manage, preprocess, and interpret experimental data, enabling actionable insights for material innovation.
  • Engage with academic communities toward paper publications.
