Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in design and optimize internal combustion engines (ICE) and exhaust aftertreatment systems (AT) for heavy-duty off-road machinery using development processes, simulation, calibration, and testing
  • 4 years of experience in build and maintain data pipelines using engineering datasets to support Machine Learning (ML) and AI deployment with Databricks, MATLAB, cloud platforms, and Python
  • 4 years of experience in leverage neural networks and deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow and PyTorch) to develop ML/AI models to characterize non-linear behaviors in ICE and AT systems
  • 4 years of experience in apply ML/AI techniques for pattern recognition, clustering, and anomaly detection to enable predictive maintenance and diagnostics in ICE and AT systems
  • 4 years of experience in implement multi-objective optimization using Reinforcement Learning for ICE and AT performance, calibration, and development decisions. Integrate with simulation tools (e.g. GTSuite and MATLAB)
  • 2 years of experience in create Natural Language Processing and gen. AI workflows for text analysis using Large Language Model tools incl. semantic search to extract insights from unstructured engineering data
  • 4 years of experience in drive adoption of ML and AI solutions across engineering teams to support ICE and AT development
  • 3 years of experience in lead complex engineering projects by managing teams with technical guidance and Agile planning
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 6 years related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and performs Machine Learning and AI work in product engineering as an expert in applying ML and AI to off-road engine and aftertreatment system development and analysis.
  • Operates in a team environment and may act as lead person, providing technical leadership and design solutions.
  • May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to other engineers and support personnel.
  • Provides technical consultation and a knowledge base across an engineering organization.
  • Up to 15% domestic and international required to meet with US and global team members, company meetings, receive training, and meet with suppliers. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 40% remote work allowed.
