Requirements

  • Advanced programming proficiency in Java or Python, with strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Strong experience designing and operating distributed systems and cloud-native applications, utilizing Spring Boot, Temporal Workflow, REST APIs, microservices, and related technologies.
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills, able to break down complex issues, identify root causes, and devise and implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to estimate and plan engineering tasks and deliver production-ready solutions on schedule.
  • Experience applying DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code in cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of modern software security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, secure coding).
  • Familiarity with containerization, orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-native development tools.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, with a focus on MVP delivery and incorporating customer feedback.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and proactive drive to identify and accomplish improvements.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.
  • Strong communicator, able to convey technical and non-technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Committed to continuous learning and supporting the professional growth of peers.

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience delivering production-quality systems
  • 3+ years of experience in system or application architecture and solution design, including cross-functional technical leadership or major project contributions
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (Azure highly preferred; AWS or GCP also valued)
  • 2+ years of practical experience leveraging Spring Boot in production environments (required), and experience with open-source frameworks such as Spec-kit
  • Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
  • Demonstrated ability to break down and estimate work, manage schedules, and mentor teammates to shared technical standards
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and initiative, with a track record of independently identifying challenges, taking ownership, and delivering impactful results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Portal, Powershell scripting, and tools like Genesis.
  • Experience with open-source frameworks such as Spec-kit.
  • Experience working with API and testing tools such as Postman and Swagger.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana.
  • Experience with Cursor AI or similar AI-assisted IDEs is a plus.

  • Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems.

  • Lead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization.
  • Define, create, and support reusable application components and patterns from a business and technology perspective.
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, workflow orchestration with Temporal Workflow, and a variety of Azure tools and services.
  • Mentor other engineers on the team to help them realize their full potential and resolve blockers.
  • Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
  • Actively seek customer and user feedback, working with Product to iterate on product features and test new ideas through MVP development.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Take initiative and ownership of outcomes, driving projects and solutions to completion through critical thinking and proactive collaboration.
