About The Position

The Senior Engineer, IT Business Analyst (BA) at MissionSquare serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and IT, driving digital transformation in a regulated environment. The Senior Business Analyst leads the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of complex requirements, designs cost-benefit-based solutions, and converts business needs into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and leadership, to ensure solutions meet objectives, champion Agile processes, and support change management. Additionally, they lead data-driven process optimization, mentor junior analysts, validate systems through testing, support production environments, and deliver actionable insights through clear reporting and stakeholder communication and deliver actionable insights through clear reporting and stakeholder communication. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience; Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Proficiency in requirements analysis, data modeling, and SDLC methodologies like Agile.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to critically analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
• The ability to engage with stakeholders, build relationships, and facilitate discussions to align solutions.
• Experience writing SQL queries to assist in validating test results.

Nice To Haves

• Mobile application testing experience a plus.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to define strategic business requirements, perform cost-benefit analysis, and develop business cases in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications, user stories, functional documentation, and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile methodology.
• Lead workshops, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives to drive clarity, alignment, and solution delivery.
• Analyze business processes using data modeling and root-cause techniques, recommending and implementing improvements that enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to validate solutions—including facilitating test planning, coordinating UAT, logging JIRA defects, and ensuring defect resolution.
• Provide production and operational support, resolving issues in live environments alongside technical teams.
• Mentor junior analysts, fostering best practices in requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and stakeholder engagement.
• Prepare and present data-driven reports, dashboards, and project status updates to managers, business owners, and senior leadership.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships and guiding them through technical and organizational changes.
