Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the implementation of software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products according to defined specifications and existing processes in a team environment to meet business and quality objectives. Execute according to software standards for life cycle, documentation, development methods, testing, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Requires a four-year college degree in an applicable engineering discipline, such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering, and a minimum of six years of experience in software design and implementation or including six years of experience with structured or object-oriented programming or a master’s degree in a computer engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and a minimum of five years of experience in an engineering environment.
  • Intermediate computer software skills, i.e. Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Execute all aspects of software development according to standards, including specification, design, and implementation of Terumo software development procedures.
  • Assist with establishing quantitative measurements and techniques for measuring software quality.
  • Provide technical leadership on software development tasks.
  • Generate, and evaluate software documents and code.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, techniques, and technologies used in software development.
  • Prototype software for demonstration/feasibility purposes.
  • Perform hardware/software integration and testing.
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, and completion of projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing new products or improving existing products / processes.
  • Recommend through research cost reduction projects and opportunities for productivity and quality improvements.
  • Provide support for testing software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
  • Define software requirements and assist in defining verification requirements.
  • Gather, track, and analyze data for meetings, business plan, etc. (yields/output/efficiencies).
  • Plan work schedules, expenditures, attend meetings, and prepare reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
