About The Position

VMware by Broadcom is looking for a Senior Engineer to join the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) vSphere Supervisor team. This role is critical in advancing the seamless integration of Kubernetes with VMware Cloud Foundation. Alongside a team of enthusiastic engineers you will drive technical direction, architecture, and implementation, ensuring our platform enables enterprise customers to adopt Kubernetes without the operational overhead of building and maintaining custom solutions. Our goal is to make Kubernetes invisible. vSphere Supervisor is a built-in Kubernetes control plane that consolidates the management of both VMs and containers onto a single, unified platform. This allows you to modernize your infrastructure and run next-generation applications on your existing vSphere environment, all while using familiar tools and retaining enterprise-level control.

Requirements

• Hands on experience with Container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Experience in scalable distributed systems in Go, C++, or Java
• Proven knowledge of systems design
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
• BS plus 8+ years OR MS in Computer Science or related technical fields and 6+ years of related experience in the software industry
• Must have legal authorization to work in the US

Responsibilities

• Decompose vague problems into detailed requirements, and develop solutions that meet the needs of our customers
• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the VM Service feature
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is aligned with VMware's coding standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to VM lifecycle, and its interfacing with other features such as storage, networking, etc.
