About The Position

The position involves supporting the Fleet Manager in enhancing the reliability and performance of United Airlines' fleet through in-depth analysis and collaboration with internal and external partners. The role focuses on identifying best practices, analyzing operational performance, and addressing fleet issues to ensure strategic goals are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Fleet Management, Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Data Analytics, and Project Management.
  • Experience in Technical Operations and Flight Operations.
  • Knowledge of aircraft system level design and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across varying levels of the company.
  • Business acumen and expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Highly proficient in indirect influence.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or related experience in Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications such as Private Pilot, SixSigma Belt, A&P, PMP, CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer).
  • Advanced data analytical and visualization skills.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Knowledge of the Palantir platform.

Responsibilities

  • Act as principal support for the Fleet Manager, delivering in-depth analysis and engaging with partners.
  • Collaborate with industry peers to identify and implement best practices.
  • Perform analysis to define strategic direction and report to leadership.
  • Analyze and communicate information on operational and technical performance indicators.
  • Identify major reliability and cost drivers and address fleet issues.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from partners and the Fleet Manager.
  • Support the Fleet Manager in developing strategies for fleet performance initiatives.
  • Review fleet reliability drivers and assist in compiling a strategic roadmap.
  • Demonstrate the Closed Loop Reliability Process and make recommendations based on performance.
  • Compile and maintain communication materials on key issues for leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to drive fleet initiatives.
  • Identify and escalate key issues to the Fleet Manager.
  • Conduct fact-finding to analyze operational interruptions and provide recommendations.
  • Represent United externally on industry committees and collaborate with OEM activities.
