The Cost Technologies team is looking for an experienced Cost and Value Engineer to add to our VCPLab Team (Variable Cost Productivity). The Senior Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional and business objectives addressing product cost-out and producibility opportunities in all phases of the product's life cycle. As an Engineering Commodity Integration Leader this role will require strong partnerships across Engineering, Manufacturing shops, Sourcing suppliers and Product lines to identify, develop, and integrate new cost strategies, design changes, and supply chain process improvements to meet business cost and productivity objectives. Partner to evaluate feasibility and mature ideas into projects to realize cost benefits. Whether we are manufacturing components for our engines, driving innovation in fuel and noise reduction, or unlocking new opportunities to grow and deliver more productivity, our GE Aerospace teams are dedicated and making a global impact. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost or value engineering, or in an engineering role working closely with suppliers.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience partnering with suppliers to make cost improvements.
  • Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline and serving as a best practice/quality resource.
  • Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Leads projects both independently as well as through partnership to deliver cost reduction.
