About The Position

Beyond TalentEdge has a direct hire opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer, Civil to join their Civil/Site Engineering Department – Buffalo location. Our client is a growing multi-disciplined Architecture/Engineering firm that has been serving their clients for 4 decades. They are a full service architectural/engineering firm with seven locations in New York State. In this role you will be managing and assisting on structural projects across New York State, be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior staff on design projects, will serve as the primary point of contact with clients and be responsible for providing critical guidance to both internal and external project stakeholders, and be an integral part in shaping the growth and direction of the department. Requirements

• Proven experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Proven experience with watershed modeling and site hydrology/hydraulic design software applications such as TR55, TR20, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Express or similar.
• Proven experience with NYS stormwater management requirements including the design of water quality and quantity controls, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), permitting forms, and construction inspections.
• Proven experience with NYS erosion and sediment control requirements, including the design and preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
• Proven experience with local municipal site plan review and NYS SEQR, including preparation of environmental assessment forms (EAF).
• Knowledge of local utility companies, municipalities, and associated design standards.
• Proven ability to progress technical concepts from inception through final design with minimum oversight.
• Willingness to learn and embrace technology to improve workflows and internal design process.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• 10+ years of demonstrated site design experience.
• A valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

• NYS PE License
• CPESC, LEED AP, and/or ENV SP certification a plus.
• Previous experience working in a multidiscipline A/E office environment

Responsibilities

• Independently develop and/or oversee the development of site plans, pedestrian and vehicular traffic circulation pathways, roadways and parking lots, site utilities, grading/drainage, watershed models, design calculations, and other elements in support of comprehensive civil/site design projects.
• Oversee and assist in the preparation and review of technical engineering documents, including comprehensive plans and specifications, reports, cost estimates.
• Perform technical and quality reviews of engineering work by others in accordance with company and/or client design standards.
• May serve as the Engineer of Record for designs performed under one's direct supervision.
• May be required to travel within New York State for project design investigations and/or construction support oversight.
