Senior Engineer - Civil/Energy
About The Position
BL Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to support the continued growth of our Energy business across the Northeast, with a focus on New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut markets. This position will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the production of civil design elements for Energy portfolio projects. These include site plans, grading plans, details, erosion controls, access road plans, utility and storm drainage plans and profiles, general notes and plan notations, specification preparation, bid document preparation, and permitting. This position will be the lead civil subject matter expert for our Energy division, responsible for working with junior engineers to prepare design plans as well as signing on as the Engineer of Record for civil engineering projects where required. Developmental opportunities exist to potentially support trenchless crossing designs such as horizontal directional drilling and jack-and-bore, too. In addition to client management, this position will support the collaborative development of projects within BL’s Energy division. Project types include natural gas transmission / distribution / regulator station assets, liquid natural gas plants, electrical distribution and substations, and renewable energy assets such as ground-mounted photovoltaic solar generation facilities and battery energy storage.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of civil or utility-related engineering and project management experience
- Knowledge of site layout, grading, storm water and erosion control design principles
- Construction/constructability expertise as it relates to production of design drawings and resolution of field issues
