Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience performing CFD analysis using SIEMENS Simcenter STAR-CCM.
  • Strong fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Exposure to thermal management of battery, motors, and power electronic components.
  • Exposure to numerical methods and engineering analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to share analysis results and drive discussions.

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in fluid dynamics and heat transfer, multiphase flows, IC engines and e-Machines.
  • Usage of High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster with Linux OS and Slurm Scheduler.
  • Knowledge of test instrumentation (strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of conventional internal combustion engines and marine propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed/comprehensive simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software Siemens Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to model fluid flow behavior and heat transfer mechanisms
  • Perform conjugate heat transfer (CHT) analysis of internal engines, marine drives, and transmission components to evaluate temperature distributions, cooling performance, and thermal risks.
  • Identify thermal drivers and provide clear, data‑driven design recommendations to improve durability, efficiency, cooling distribution, and component life.
  • Conduct multiphase hydrodynamic simulations for propellers, drives, and boat systems using multiphase CFD techniques (VOF, Eulerian‑Lagrangian) and moving/overset mesh to model gas–liquid–solid interactions.
  • Work closely with design and development engineers to help provide design input and perform trade-off studies that will improve the product. This includes evaluating different design options and assessing their impact on performance, weight, cost, and recommending the best solutions.
  • Work closely with test engineers to specify the necessary testing and instrumentation required to validate analysis results. This includes designing test plans, selecting appropriate sensors, and ensuring accurate data collection.
