About The Position

Toyota's Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Senior Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage, develop, and evaluate next-generation ADAS features that enhance safety and elevate the driving experience. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this role supports the IVS Department's mission to research, develop, and deliver innovative ADAS technologies that shape the future of mobility. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience leading or collaborating on ADAS or electronic systems development from concept through production.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle ECU architecture and in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD).
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as DFMEA, DRBFM, and FTA.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, communicate effectively with executives, and thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and excellent time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and work overtime when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related engineering or computer science field.
  • Experience deploying ADAS technology to U.S. customers.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and elevate team technical capabilities.
  • Programming knowledge and familiarity with Japanese language.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and design of ADAS components and systems, including target setting, packaging, and electrical interface definition.
  • Drive development of electronic parts and systems through major and minor vehicle changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with department processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global counterparts to meet project milestones and deliver cutting-edge ADAS features.
  • Innovate to improve customer experience, benchmarking competitor technologies and proposing next-generation solutions that enhance safety and performance.
  • Manage schedules and risk assessments, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with performance, cost, and quality targets.
  • Participate in domestic and international evaluation and manufacturing events, representing Toyota's commitment to excellence.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and strengthening team capabilities.
