Senior Energy Climate Program Manager

Under direction of the Sustainability Program Director, incumbent works independently to advance the City’s goals to reduce energy use, increase the use of renewable energy resources, and develop strategies to address and adapt to climate change. Serves as the primary City employee leading efforts on the Utah Renewable Communities, a collaboration with 18 other Utah communities and our utility to create a net-100% clean electricity program. Serves as the subject matter expert and advisor, recommending best options for reaching climate and energy goals. Provides technical and facilitation services for City staff, department directors, elected officials, business groups, nonprofit organizations, and other partners to achieve the City’s climate and energy goals. Provides direction to consultants and may supervise and coordinate the activities of an assigned workgroup. This is a highly technical management position requiring experience and expertise in project management, energy management and climate planning.
