We are looking for a talented individual… The Senior Energy Assessment Specialist will be accountable for conducting technical quality assurance inspections of HVAC and weatherization installations as well as delivering home energy assessment training and shadowing opportunities to community-based organizations. They will be asked to support contractors and other program partners helping deliver energy efficiency programs throughout Oregon and SW Washington. This position will also be tasked with developing, managing, and expanding relationships with relevant market actors in the area through ongoing outreach activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in energy efficiency building science principles and display a passion for developing relationships in support of program objectives. This includes; answering technical HVAC and weatherization questions, completing diagnostic inspections of energy saving measures, conducting home energy assessments and analyzing and reporting on field data.

Requirements

  • Bring 5+ years of experience in residential trades and/or energy efficiency programs
  • work independently with minimal supervision
  • travel regionally
  • maintain relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site and virtual quality assurance inspections for HVAC and weatherization projects; develop and implement QA protocols and review technical exception requests
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for customers, contractors, and community-based organizations, including scope, bid, and installation review
  • Design and deliver home energy assessment trainings, shadowing opportunities, and event support for community partners
  • Perform home energy assessments using diagnostic tools such as blower doors, duct blasters, and flow plates, applying strong building science and residential energy efficiency knowledge
  • Track, analyze, and report QA results using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools with strong attention to detail and documentation quality
  • Manage and de-escalate complex customer and contractor situations with professionalism, clear communication, and a client-focused approach
