About The Position

Provides clinical and related services to clients of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Physician’s Resource Network (PRN). Provides guidance to team members in order to identify and resolve personal/interpersonal concerns that may affect job performance of employees. Provides consultation and training to organization leadership to assist in management of employee issues that affect job performance.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work or Doctor of Psychology required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • NYS Clinical License required or NYS Clinical License eligibility required.
  • Medical Professionals with an MD/DO or NP license in psychiatry also eligible.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience, required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to team members to identify and resolve personal/ interpersonal concerns including, but not limited to: health, disability, marital, family, financial, substance abuse, emotional, stress, workplace or other issues that may affect job performance of the employees.
  • Develops a written, individualized appropriate plan of action and determines referral recommendations and selection of resources based on client’s needs; recommends or refers client to appropriate resources for problem resolution. Serves as a client advocate to ensure access to appropriate resources; provides evidenced based interaction and counseling and support to encourage client to follow through with referrals.
  • Ensures that a developed protocol is followed to enable appropriate follow-up and/or monitoring of client progress; ensures assistance to employees to resolve personnel issues.
  • Provides consultation and training to organization leadership to manage employee issues that affect job performance.
  • Provides ongoing education and training on purpose, procedures and availability of EAP services; provides consultation regarding issues, policies, practices and events that may impact employee well being.
  • Provides instruction on regulatory issues regarding substance abuse in the workplace.
  • Collaborates with managers for cognitive behavioral health fitness for duty protocols; uses established protocols and algorithms for substance abuse triage.
  • Trains, educates and facilitates workshops to employee and community groups in person, online, and through other mass media.
  • Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Acts as lead to assigned Northwell sites/markets to foster relationships with leadership and wellness leads
  • Provides in-person support for a range of organizational needs such as tabling, education, and critical incident response.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation with the clinical team to provide real-time support to team members and leaders for urgent situations
