About The Position
The Senior Emerging Regulations Specialist will proactively monitor and engage with evolving trends and regulations in the confectionery, fruit snacks, and dietary supplement sectors across various regions, including but not limited to the European Union, United Kingdom, China, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Canada, and Mexico. This role is essential for fostering cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Legal, Government Affairs, Product Development, Marketing, and International. Reporting to the Regulatory Expert, the specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that the company remains compliant with all applicable regulations while also anticipating future regulatory changes that may impact the business. In this position, the specialist will be responsible for engaging in and staying educated on emerging trends and regulations as they are being defined. This includes attending industry-led working groups such as those organized by the National Confectioner's Association, Consumer Brands Association, and Codex Alimentarius. The specialist will analyze and interpret complex international regulatory documents to understand their implications for Ferrara products related to confectionery, chewing gum, fruit snacks, and dietary supplements. Additionally, the specialist will propose strategies for future planning to minimize risks and ensure continued regulatory compliance with minimal unexpected impact on business and consumer safety. The role also involves educating regulatory specialists, marketing, research & development, corporate quality, legal, operations, plant quality, and senior leadership on current and emerging regulations by providing guidance and training. Establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with all state, federal, and international regulations is another key responsibility. The specialist will partner with plant quality teams to streamline procedures that adhere to Ferrara's regulatory standards, ensuring compliant product labeling and product claims substantiation while adhering to all company policies and procedures. The specialist must understand and demonstrate the company's core values in all aspects of their work.
