About The Position

Senior Emergency Tech at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. Positions available may be part-time or full-time on Night or Day shifts. Available options to be discussed in the interview. Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment that sees an average of 240 patients per day. We are Level 4 Trauma Certified and a Stroke and STEMI receiving department. The Senior Emergency Services Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include, but are not limited to ECGs, vital signs, monitoring, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age-specific needs based on the emergency department scope of service. Requirements

  • Certification as an EMT or completion of an accredited EMT course OR demonstrated equivalency (such as experience as a Corpsman or MD)
  • Upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework/Training: Basic EKG course
  • Coursework/Training: California Emergency Medical Technician License
  • 1 year - EMT experience
  • 1 year - Emergency Department experience

Responsibilities
