In alignment with the goals and objectives of the Interagency Recovery Coordination Branch in the Recovery Directorate, the Senior Emergency Services Coordinator (SESC) position works as the Community Planning and Capacity Building Recovery Support Function (CPCB RSF) Coordinator. The California RSFs (CA-RSFs) operate under the California Disaster Recovery Framework (CDRF) to support recovery operations statewide, coordinating with state and federal partners to provide resources and help empower local communities to drive and manage their own recovery and resiliency. Additional information about the CA-RSF team can be found here: Recovery Support Functions | California Governor's Office of Emergency Services The ideal candidate for this position is a self-motivated and organized person with the ability to envision, plan, develop, and implement innovative (and sometimes sensitive) projects to aid local and tribal communities plan for and recover from a disaster. The SESC supports disaster recovery coordination and planning efforts with local, state, private non-profit, non-governmental, and federal stakeholders and works on highly visible and high-level projects that closely align with the CDRF and California State Emergency Plan (SEP). The SESC facilitates ongoing engagement with primary agencies and support organizations to assist local long-term recovery and resiliency efforts of disaster affected communities. This position coordinates the Community Planning and Capacity Building RSF and supports and integrates with the other five (5) CA-RSFs: Economic, Health and Social Services, Housing, Infrastructure Systems, and Natural and Cultural Resources.
