Two Six Technologies is seeking a Senior Embedded Test Software Engineer to maintain and optimize automated test workflows for embedded cybersecurity systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliability, efficiency, and scalability of test frameworks, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), and subsystem-to-system-level integration tests for microcontroller and FPGA-based systems.

  • Maintain, optimize, and enhance existing test workflows, including subsystem- and system-level tests for hardware designs in prototype and production environments.
  • Support ongoing ATE operations and integration with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
  • Refine and improve test scripts, command-line tools, and hardware/software interfaces for network hardware products.
  • Monitor and analyze test results, identifying inefficiencies or failures and implementing corrective improvements.
  • Collaborate with embedded firmware/software teams to ensure test frameworks reflect current system designs and firmware configurations.
  • Participate in system-level validation and prototype integration testing to maintain device performance standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers in test execution, reporting, and automation best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in test software development, automation, or embedded system testing (Python, C, C++, Embedded C).
  • Experience with Linux-based CLI tools, scripting, and test integration.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller and FPGA systems, including debugging and serial/ethernet configuration interfaces.
  • Proven experience maintaining or optimizing automated test frameworks and workflows in research and/or production environments.
  • Experience with network traffic simulation, throughput measurement, firewall testing, and fuzzing.
  • Active Top Secret clearance, with willingness to obtain TS/SCI and Polygraph.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in Arlington, VA.
  • Experience supporting production hardware and software.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for test automation (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of system-level testing and network performance testing.
  • Firmware/driver experience for Linux or Windows embedded systems.
  • Graduate degree in a related technical discipline.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
