Requirements

  • Bachelor's in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • 1+ years of experience specifically writing high reliability real-time embedded software in C/C++.
  • Proficient in C++, with an understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing technical projects and mentoring team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with additional programming languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (e.g., Jenkins) tools.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design principles as they relate to embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing C/C++ code for embedded systems.
  • Experience with automated testing using GTest.
  • Experience in a regulated industry preferred, ideally in medical device software with IEC 62304 experience.
  • Excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-performance and robust embedded software, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components and accurate implementation of high precision system functionality.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices, and implement testing strategies to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in embedded systems development and verification, to drive innovation within the team.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software designs, processes, and testing procedures, and share knowledge with the team to ensure continuous improvement.
