About The Position

Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and support software systems that directly interface with vehicle and manufacturing hardware. In this role, you’ll build, integrate, and support Linux-based, C++ solutions used in vehicle flash and test environments, with real-time impact across GM’s global manufacturing footprint. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives in complex, production-critical environments and wants to see their work deployed at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Hardware knowledge.
  • Proficiency in USB, TCP/IP, and SQL.
  • Strong C++ coding and unit testing experience.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence (or similar tools).
  • Ability to write code and actively manage integration issues with an enterprise-wide perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test software for vehicle interfaces and embedded systems used for flash and test.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure seamless integration with external systems.
  • Support plants, product engineering, IT, and internal teams to deliver solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Track work progress, document development, and share lessons learned.
  • Assist in code development, porting test code, and customizing for new environments.
  • Identify risks and resolve integration gaps across the enterprise.
