The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced/Senior Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer for current and emerging fixed wing fighter programs located in Berkeley, MO. These programs include: F-47 - the next generation fighter for the Air Force, T-7A - the next generation trainer for the Air Force, F/A-18, EA-18G, F-15, F-22 - production tactical fighter aircraft ongoing major upgrades, and several programs within the Phantom Works organization. At Boeing, our Electrical Engineers develop and test electronic and electrical system requirements using analytical and technical skills, translate requirements into system architectures and modify hardware and software designs for Boeing aircraft, unmanned vehicles and much more. As a member of the team, you will lead the development and execution of new Mission Computing solutions for emerging and existing fixed wing fighter programs. Upon successful design of an architecture that meets all system requirements, this individual will lead the engineering team in its implementation and maintenance of that design through the development, lab test and flight test phases of the development cycle.

  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain avionics architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for system level architecture, system-specific issues, and processes.
  • Leads the engineering team in implementation of Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes.
  • Works with specialty engineering teams to decompose requirements to the Mission Computer to ensure performance, safety critical, and environmental requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate execution of ongoing hardware-software integration efforts in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Works with customers and aircrew to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Receives customer requests and analyzes them with consideration for contractual and technical impacts and translates into actionable system requirements.
  • Provides technical leadership for investigation of emerging technologies, technical planning and integration of new technology implementation, and technology demonstrations.
  • Resolves product integration issues and production anomalies.
  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience in Open Mission Systems (OMS) development.
  • Experience in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) development.
  • Familiarity with Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) message standard and Common Abstraction Layer (CAL).
  • Experience with system design and development, including component interactions, interfaces, and overall system functionality.
  • Experience with requirements development and management, including technical performance specification and statement of work development.
  • Experience with NSA C2 and NCDSMO interactions and certification processes.
  • Experience with Multi-level Security Networks.
  • Experience with Multi-level Security Embedded Systems.
  • Experience with Cryptographic units, Cross Domain Solutions/Guards including access CDS and transfer CDS.
  • Knowledge of 3U and 6U VPX/OpenVPX architectures.
  • Knowledge of Signal Integrity & Interconnect.
  • Experience with High-Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC).
  • Experience with hardware design and development, encompassing all phases of the product lifecycle from initial design to flight maturity.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and testing methodologies to verify system functionality.
  • Experience with designing secure architectures, implementing cryptographic protocols, secure boot processes, firmware validation, and secure communications.
  • Experience with Open Architecture Standards.
