The Role Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a talented security professional to join our Protective Design & Security leadership team. For this position, you will have a strong background in operational, technical and electronic security system design and consulting in a wide range of commercial, educational, sports, entertainment, government, and infrastructure project types. To succeed in this position, you must be highly adaptable and collaborative and demonstrate excellent initiative to develop client relationships, generate business, manage projects and support current leadership in providing oversight on project delivery and financial management.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong existing client relationships.
  • Strong client management skills and business development experience.
  • Experience in managing financial and technical aspects of projects and staff.
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of common government security standards and documents.
  • Ability to travel.
  • The long-term work location is the Washington D.C. office. Training, internal meetings, and project meetings will require periods of time spent in other locations.
  • Ability to gain and hold U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and nurture existing client relationships in the role.
  • Responsible for Electronic Security System design and consulting.
  • Provide consulting services for new and existing construction.
  • Contribute to the development of Threat and Risk Assessments.
  • Develop and write Security Design Guidelines and Requirements.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coordination to technical project teams.
  • Collaborate with in-house multidisciplinary staff across many geographical/office locations.
  • Maintain quality assurance program, and lead/participate in internal initiatives related to the advancement of analytical tools and development of best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions to clients and project teams
  • Manage project budgets, schedules and staffing.
  • Provide financial oversight of projects.
