About The Position

Amentum is seeking expertise to perform engineering tasks related to Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) evolutions on naval ship architectures and systems. Responsibilities include: Performing EMP research, analysis, requirements definition and development, assessments, test and evaluation. Assess impacts of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) / EMP on shipboard configurations and systems, perform EMP risk impacts and mission analysis. Assess High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) effects. Will develop technical and operational conclusions and write technical reports that meet sponsor requirements. Plan and participate in MIL-STD 461 testing at the Naval Ordnance Transient Electromagnetic Simulator (NOTES) test facility. Plan and participate in EMP testing for Low Level Continuous Wave (LLCW) technology demonstration; perform data acquisition and analysis; refine LLCW Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Twelve (12) years of demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to one or more of the following, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Naval Architecture
  • Seven (7) years of experience in Research, Development, Test, Engineering, or Integration related to warfare systems or electronic systems
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following specific areas: RF and Microwave Engineering; Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP); Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3); Electromagnetic Interference (EMI); Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC); E3 Computation and RF Simulation; Pulse Current Injection (PCI) shipboard testing
  • Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance
  • Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance
