About The Position

The Electro-Optics Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides onsite technical support to the Electro-Optic Support Facility (EOSF) at Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Quantico. This role supports the testing, analysis, maintenance, and evaluation of a wide range of electro-optical systems in support of PdM Infantry Weapons (IW). The SME serves as a key technical authority for electro-optical system testing, data analysis, and reporting, ensuring accurate results, compliance with established procedures, and effective support to government stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or closely related field
  • Required Experience: 10+ years’ experience in electro-optical systems engineering, test and evaluation
  • Must possess specific experience and expertise in operation, maintenance, and management of electro-optical, and imaging systems.
  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Apply industry best practices and standards, leading-edge technology, and innovative solutions to design, develop, and test systems that combine electronics with optics.
  • Apply highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts, and guide others in problem resolution.
  • Test a broad range of electro-optical systems including laser systems, image intensification systems, day optical systems, and thermal systems.
  • Function independently to resolve problems and challenges; recommend avenues of technological application to accomplish short-and long-term program objectives.
  • Lead and advise staff members to meet established objectives.
  • Develop and implement informed solutions to meet fiscal, technological and schedule constraints.
  • Conduct electro-optical system testing, monitoring & surveillance, test plan development, test method development, test equipment upkeep, troubleshooting, maintenance, and maintenance management.
  • Provide technical analysis of test results, process testing data, and participate in limited user evaluations.
  • Provide technical & engineering analysis paper on related topics, to include technological capabilities, inherent engineering principles, and material analysis.
  • Maintain accurate accountability and inventory control documentation of all equipment.
  • Define key concepts for planning, deployment, integration, operation and/or enhancement of state-of-the-art and/or legacy systems.
  • Monitor and report on project status.
