About The Position

Martin Marietta is looking to hire a Senior Electrician to maintain, calibrate, conduct root cause analyses, consult, research, and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency. The individual hired for this role will be responsible for providing support to the quarries and underground mines throughout the Omaha area.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree in electrical or comparable experience is preferred
  • Certified / licensed Electrician is preferred
  • 3+ years related experience
  • Experience in aggregates, industrial, or similar industry preferred
  • Must have a Valid US Driver's License
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding vendor relations skills (internal and external contractors)
  • Willingness to occasionally be on call or work weekends
  • Working knowledge of medium voltage electrical systems required
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments and electrical construction tools
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • General physical activities including climbing stairs, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping and handling materials

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLC's a plus
  • Experience in a mining setting is a plus
  • Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture.
  • Perform duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations under MSHA.
  • Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for mining operations.
  • Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls and drive for underground & surface mines.
  • Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plants to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability, and reporting.
  • Work closely with engineering group and contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment/systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform duties with minimum supervision.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the local management team.
