At Copper, we’re reinventing home appliances for an electrified future. Our flagship Charlie stove pairs high-performance induction with integrated energy storage to make the switch from fossil fuels a no-brainer. We’re a small, fast, collaborative team that ships, learns, and iterates quickly. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, PCB Validation, Compliance and Production Automation, you’ll own electrical validation and compliance across prototype and production hardware, with a strong focus on PCB bring-up, safety/EMC pre-compliance, and scalable factory test systems. You’ll lead PCB- and system-level electrical testing from EVT through production, build reliable test fixtures and rigs for reliability and certification readiness, and create crisp validation plans, procedures, and reports in partnership with hardware and embedded teammates. You’ll also support production electrical test & automation: making PCB and electrical test fixtures, improving scripts (Python), and station reliability to increase coverage and throughput. On the bench and the line, you’ll wire and commission test setups, use lab instrumentation to characterize performance, debug PCBAs and electronics, drive root-cause analysis, and raise the bar on safety and quality. You’ll help define scalable validation and manufacturing test processes, build custom equipment, and document rigorously—and maybe even contribute a recipe or two. We value diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We’re especially focused on fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can contribute to our shared mission. This is a full-time position and it is expected to be in-office 4 days per week. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.
