Job PurposeReporting to the Battery Performance Test Manager, the Senior Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for supporting Li-Ion and Lead Acid Battery and Battery system testing activities. The Senior Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for writing test procedures, quoting outside test lab work, organizing test material, ensuring all tests are completed correctly, communicating with internal customers, and writing the final test reports.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work as part of a Global V&V team. Conduct battery and system electrical performance testing. Liaise with and support witness test at 3rd party laboratory tests. Work with external parties on fixture design and test instrumentation & optimization Author test reports. Identify test equipment to build/enhance internal testing capability. Manage and maintain test equipment Develop and optimize test methods. Develop test standards. Provide product design enhancement suggestions

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated development of test equipment controls and DUT integration
  • Experience with communication protocols EG CAN, Modbus, TCPIP
  • Software development experience with test communication protocols, including LabView programming language
  • Detailed report writing skills.
  • 3+ years of testing experience.
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork with various organizations both internal and external.
  • Strong communication skills with cross functional teams
  • Previous experience of working with battery technology is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office program suite.
  • Detailed report writing skills.
  • Previous experience of delivering measurable results in a busy environment.
  • Experience of working with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
  • Good communication skills and able to liaise across all areas of the business.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of safety practices in the workplace.
  • Familiar with 5S and Six Sigma lean enterprise initiatives.
  • Familiar with quality standards (ISO 9001 & 17025, equipment metrology).
  • Familiar with UN38.3, UL1973, UL2580, UL9540, UL9540A, IEC60068 test standards.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of testing large format Li-Ion batteries.
  • Experience with integrating testing procedures with Generative AI
