The Senior Electrical Process Development Engineer within the Electrophysiology group is a technical leader and mentor within the Process Development team responsible for creating robust and sustainable manufacturing processes for medical catheters and their assemblies. The Senior Electrical Process Development Engineer will provide the technical leadership for the development of products to production by working cross-functionally with an engineering team located both in Fridley, MN and Costa Rica.

  • Provide technical leadership in the execution of the process design, development activities for medical devices through the product development process within the Electrophysiology group, specifically on flex substrate, PCB and electrical bonding processes.
  • Independently determine solutions for complex problems, process selection decisions, and technical challenges.
  • Utilize process characterization skills and tools such as Design on Experiments (DOE), DFM, and statistics to make data driven decisions.
  • Create documents such as process validation protocols or engineering studies that demonstrate technical rationale for associated decision.
  • Mentor other engineers and promote a culture of feedback.
  • Lead efforts to investigate, develop, and implement new technology.
  • Work collaboratively with technicians and operators to complete development builds and solve technical problems.
  • Establish internal global or regional relationships and collaborate to ensure best practices are utilized.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required, master's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience required; 1 year of relevant work experience may be substituted for a graduate degree and 3 years for a doctorate.
  • Minimum 2 years of hardware electrical engineering work experience desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in flex substrate, PCB, and electrical bonding processes.
  • Medical device and Electrophysiology experience highly desired.
  • Ability to make complex data driven decisions utilizing statistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently complete process development and finished engineering deliverables from the product development process.
  • Ability to identify, plan, lead, execute, and communicate on any technical and/or project workstreams with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to all audiences including senior management, production employees, and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop cross-functional relationships and influence to drive results.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, mostly between US and Costa Rica.
