About The Position

The Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer Lead plays a key role in supporting our paper mill operations by leading capital projects focused on sustaining electrical infrastructure. This role is highly hands-on, with a strong focus on project execution, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams and vendors. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in electrical systems and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position collaborates closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational areas to ensure electrical reliability, manage critical spares, and support long-term asset sustainability across the mill. This position collaborates closely with Process Engineering, Environmental, and Operational areas to reduce losses, improve chemical usage, and support digital upskilling initiatives across the mill.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally within pulp & paper, chemical, or oil & gas industries.
  • Strong background in power distribution, controls, PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems.
  • Experience with equipment from GE, Allen Bradley, Eaton, and Westinghouse.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late shifts when needed.
  • High self-motivation and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing contractors and vendors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and manage electrical improvement projects (e.g., fire distribution system, crane controls, drives upgrades, power quality studies, machine room equipment, cameras).
  • Address ongoing electrical issues and identify critical spares to ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and interface with contractors and vendors to execute capital projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Monitor key electrical parameters and identify opportunities for system optimization.
  • Support mill operations by ensuring electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to align priorities and share technical insights.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization.
