About The Position

AECOM Hunt is seeking a highly talented Senior Electrical Estimator to join our Hunt Construction group. This position will be supporting our Indianapolis, Indiana location. The role involves developing proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes, recognizing and applying estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles for compiling all types of estimates. The estimator will assist in analyzing and using estimates to predict key project issues, prepare and coordinate full project estimates, and provide complete conceptual and final estimating input. The position requires understanding construction means, methods, and sequences, and performing all aspects of estimating. The estimator will also assist in the preparation of the Estimate Plan, conduct independent evaluations, and may provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel. Responsibilities include developing wage rate build-ups, reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals, and contracts, as well as preparing scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.

Requirements

  • BA/BS and 6 years of relevant electrical construction and estimating experience or AA/AS and 8 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical estimating and low voltage systems.
  • Relevant experience in electrical trades.
  • Experience in electrical estimating in various commercial industries, such as: aviation, healthcare, sports arenas, concert venues or hospitals.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercialized estimating programs, such as MC or other computer aided estimating programs.
  • Electrical estimating experience from a larger GC or electrical contractor.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Develop proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes.

  • Perform all aspects of estimating.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Estimate Plan.
  • Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel.
  • Develop wage rate build-ups.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts.
  • Develop detailed material take-offs.
  • Prepare scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.
  • Prepare subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.
