Turner Construction is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team in Reston, VA. This position is crucial for preparing detailed estimates for projects based on design documents, narratives, and specifications, with a specific focus on Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage System trades. In this role, you will take on the lead estimating responsibility for complex projects, including Mission Critical, Market Segment, and Government jobs, with MEP package contract values exceeding $25 million. You will communicate estimates and scopes of work to various stakeholders, including project staff, architects, engineers, and owners. Your responsibilities will include preparing complete quantity take-offs, conducting analyses, and developing estimates for Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage system items from conceptual design through to completed construction documents. You may also need to perform preliminary design work to complete conceptual estimates. You will analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope not already indicated, and develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate pricing. Additionally, you will perform constructability analyses of project documents, communicate design and constructability issues to the project team, and provide first costs analysis while participating in life cycle analysis with the design team. Your role will also involve leading company-wide or regional MEP strategic initiatives, contributing your subject matter expertise for project pursuits, and participating in developing and implementing MEP training. You will coordinate equipment pricing and conduct value analyses to identify cost-efficient alternatives for proposed materials and equipment. As a liaison with engineers, design consultants, trade partners, and other stakeholders, you will resolve issues related to Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems during the preconstruction phase. Finally, you will prepare and assemble estimates and proposals for various contract types and participate in project hand-offs to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations.
