About The Position

Our Engineering Design Organization is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in the US Northeast region. In this role, you will play a key part in designing electrical power generation, distribution, and utilization systems, while guiding and mentoring a talented group of Electrical Power Engineers across the region. Your responsibilities will span coordinating and performing power studies (including Arc Flash analysis), leading detailed design efforts for electrical power systems, and supporting proposal development through scope definition and engineering estimates. You'll also prepare procurement specifications for electrical equipment, develop comprehensive electrical construction documents, and design, review, and seal electrical design packages. Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the design of electrical power generation and distribution and utilization systems; experience with industrial and municipal clients.
  • Familiarity with ETAP or SKM computer-assisted electrical power study programs including short-circuit, protective relaying coordination and arc-flash studies.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and NFPA 70B and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices.
  • Able and willing to travel for short period for site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve quality to better meet client's needs.
  • Manage technical troubleshooting projects, ensuring effective diagnosis of technical issues with equipment and experiments and the development of effective solutions.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards.
  • Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
  • Create complex engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Lead major equipment rebuilds; guide planned installation of complex systems.
  • Analyze information and specify the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.
  • Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief.
  • Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.
