Senior Electrical Engineer

TushyNew York, NY
$110,000 - $130,000Hybrid

About The Position

As TUSHY’s first Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll own our analog and digital embedded architecture across our connected bidet lineup and expanding hardware portfolio, build our EE standards from the ground up, and partner closely with our Mechanical Engineering team on their projects. The products you ship will end up in bathrooms across the U.S. and beyond! This role is hybrid, with the expectation of at least 3 days a week in our Dumbo, Brooklyn (NY) office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in consumer electronics, home appliances, medical devices, or IoT hardware — ideally a mix of all of the above.
  • Deep expertise in analog and digital embedded design: component selection, system architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, DFM, and full hardware bring-up and verification.
  • Embedded firmware development experience across microcontrollers and RTOS environments, including design, test, and debugging at the metal.
  • Experience designing and implementing BLE and/or WiFi connectivity in consumer or IoT products.
  • Demonstrated experience in the selection, integration and testing of various sensors and camera modules within embedded systems.
  • Strong background in power electronics, including motor/pump drive systems, power management, and thermal design.
  • Proven ability to resolve compliance testing and EMI/EMC issues through methodical root cause analysis; experience managing UL/ETL, CE, FCC/IC, certifications end-to-end.
  • Comfort working with DFMEA, and BOM cost tracking — you know how to run a rigorous hardware program.
  • Track record of defining and deploying engineering standards across contract manufacturers and global supplier partners.
  • Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and find order in chaos — this is a first-of-its-kind role at TUSHY and you’ll be writing the playbook.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills — you can translate complex EE concepts for non-engineers, align diverse stakeholders, and move fast without sacrificing rigor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical engineering experience or genuine curiosity about ME — you’ll be working side-by-side with our ME team and there's a real opportunity to grow your skills across both disciplines.
  • Bonus points if you can deliver an ohm butt pun on demand and know exactly when to deploy it.

Responsibilities

  • Own TUSHY’s electrical engineering standards from scratch — designing, documenting, and deploying EE best practices across internal teams, manufacturing partners, and supplier networks worldwide.
  • Lead end-to-end PCB design for TUSHY’s hardware portfolio: schematic capture, layout, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), and rigorous design verification and bring-up.
  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for our bidet and hardware products, working across microcontrollers, bare-metal, and RTOS environments.
  • Architect and implement wireless connectivity features (BLE, WiFi if necessary) for TUSHY’s hardware portfolio
  • Design and optimize power management, pump and motor control, and electronic drive systems that deliver reliable, safe, and energy-efficient performance at scale.
  • Own global compliance end-to-end: UL/ETL safety listing, CE, FCC/IC, — including resolving EMI/EMC issues through methodical root cause analysis and managing the full certification process.
  • Partner closely with the Mechanical Engineering team to provide EE guidance on their projects, ensuring seamless electrical-mechanical integration across the full product family.
  • Own hardware documentation end-to-end: component selection rationale, DFMEA, design verification records, and specifications clear enough that contract manufacturers and global partners can execute without hand-holding.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and manage EE component suppliers; define procurement standards, BOM strategy, and vendor quality requirements that scale with our manufacturing base.
  • Drive innovation in smart product features across our connected bidet lineup and new hardware categories, bringing a strong EE perspective to every roadmap conversation.
  • Work closely with Product, Creative, Operations, and Marketing to ensure products launch on time, on spec, and ready for production at scale.
