We offer both stability and growth opportunities in today’s fast-changing environment. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Dynamic team in our Boston office. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be working with junior staff and designing the building infrastructure for various projects including Healthcare, Science and Technology, Academic, Hospitality and Commercial buildings.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of the NEC, IBC and IECC.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Revit knowledge is a plus.
  • SKM, AGI 32 and AMPCALC desired.
  • PE license highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead project engineer on a variety of projects from new construction to renovations through all phases from conceptual design to construction. Project types include but are not limited to office buildings, labs, data centers, academic, high rise residential, hotels, museums, industrial, financial, government.
  • Be part of the project team in the production of engineering solutions for large scale and complex building projects.
  • Coordinate design with internal teams (mechanical, plumbing, sustainability) and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, consultants).
  • Responsible for the design of power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power supply in accordance with all applicable NEC codes and standards. Maintain a strong understanding of associated Codes and Standards and ensure compliance in all team activities. Document design calculations and design path decisions.
  • Develop specifications, legends, site plans, lighting plans, power plans, one-lines, riser diagrams, details, various schedules such as panelboard schedules and mechanical schedules as well as load calculations.
  • Develop and evaluate best engineering solutions for projects, and support and perform quality control reviews at various stages of design.
  • Lead the project electrical team of engineers and designers and provide technical guidance in the development of the construction documents as well as support assigned staff on technical and administrative issues.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers. Continuously evaluate and improve the Team’s deliverable quality, communications and attitude as well as review designs with QA-QC Engineer and Department Head.
  • Work in conjunction with the Managing Principal, Project Managers and Electrical team to plan the work and balance deliverables with budgets on multiple projects.
  • Perform Construction Administration tasks such as field visits and subsequent issuance of field reports, responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Perform studies associated with conceptual designs which may require site surveys of existing conditions, system sizing and definition of required space for anticipated electrical equipment.
