The Collins Aerospace IPS in Richardson, TX has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work in Advanced Systems on A-Kit and component electronics product development for defense applications. The candidate will be responsible for design of A-Kit electrical hardware and associated systems for ground and airborne products & subsystems. The candidate will be performing electrical design, electrical design analysis, implementing design solutions, performing simulations, and performing analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting. What You Will Do: While maintaining and growing you EE skillset: You will get to specialize in PM&P (Parts, Materials & Process) Developing selecting components that the customer approves Researching and processing hardware to make our final product shine. Once that stage of development is complete, you will work with the team to design aircraft communications and interfaces in the DoD world.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience with power system design and analysis tools (SPICE, SIMPLIS, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB/Simulink, ADS, Hyperlynx PI).
  • Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics.
  • Experience in testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, power supply stability testers, spectrum analyzers, and debugging tools.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.” "U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with components selection and SDRL submission.
  • Prior Cable, Harness, and A-Kit design and implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • Active possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant size, weight, power, and cost requirements.
  • Electrical design and analysis with current software tools.
  • Experience with design of high voltage and high current power conversion circuit assemblies including specification and selection of PCB materials, high voltage/high current transformers, inductors, and FETs, as well as implementing ADCs, DACs, and supporting analog circuits.
  • Experience with various switched-mode power supply topologies and modeling.
  • Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry.
  • Ability to handle fast paced and dynamic product development environment.
  • Capable technical leader with good management and interpersonal skills.
