About The Position

The Senior Electrical Engineer plans and executes development studies for new products or supports current projects. This role involves leading medium‑scope engineering assignments, estimating resources, scheduling work, coordinating project contributors, and developing proposals and cost estimates. The focus is on electrical and electromechanical systems used in medical devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSEE) required
  • Minimum: 5+ years engineering experience with BSEE
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Project management principles
  • Application of ALCOA principles
  • Understanding of electrical safety and ESD
  • Tools: Cadence/Orcad Capture & PCB Editor, PSPICE
  • Design for manufacturing/testability
  • Analog/Digital circuit design
  • Hands‑on experience with DMMs and mixed-signal oscilloscopes
  • Knowledge of applicable safety & test standards
  • Talking/hearing required
  • PPE awareness and use required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree (MSEE) preferred
  • Preferred: 3+ years experience with MSEE

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad electrical design knowledge and related engineering principles.
  • Plan and conduct design and development assignments for medium‑scale projects.
  • Estimate resource needs, schedule work, and oversee Engineers/Technicians as needed.
  • Deliver electrical designs from concept through design transfer.
  • Generate system/subsystem requirements.
  • Create electrical schematics, multilayer PCB designs, and cable/harness designs.
  • Specify electronic components and power supplies.
  • Provide technical training and stakeholder guidance.
  • Perform verification/validation testing, generate test protocols, and write reports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for designs, processes, test methods, and rationales.
  • Conduct failure analyses and investigation reports.
  • Develop proposals and cost estimates.
  • Communicate issues or opportunities to management.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Create multilevel Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Conduct technical assessments and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Software, vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Coordinate testing with external labs (NRTL, environmental, HALT, etc.).
  • Use general and specialized engineering test equipment.
  • Perform lab experiments and troubleshooting.
  • Apply electrical safety and ESD principles.
  • Complete role‑based training and utilize Fortive Business Systems tools.
  • Supervise or coordinate Engineers and Technicians.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering and cross‑functional teams.
  • Travel to customers for VOC studies or technical troubleshooting.
  • Interface with contracting agencies for engineering support.
  • Work with suppliers for component sourcing or technical services.
  • Support EHS policies and ensure compliance
  • Enforce safety procedures and recognize safe behaviors
  • Provide training when needed (new hires, transfers, new hazards)
  • Conduct investigations and corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use of protective equipment
  • Participate in monthly inspections
