About The Position

The Engineer supports the design, coordination, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for the Purple Line light rail project. This role ensures all electrical work meets project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining schedule and budget targets. What you will be doing Review and interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Coordinate between civil and electrical work. Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and field staff to resolve technical issue. Support installation and inspection of electrical systems, including traction power, signaling interfaces, lighting, communications, and auxiliary power system Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with design, quality standards, and safety requirement. Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders related to electrical scope. Assist with procurement of electrical materials and equipment. Track progress and provide updates on electrical work to project management. Support testing, commissioning, and system integration activities. Requirements

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in construction, transportation, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience with rail/transit systems (traction power, signaling, or communications) preferred
  • Familiarity with NEC and relevant electrical codes and standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project management or document control systems is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • EIT certification; PE license is a plus
  • Experience working on design-build or large-scale infrastructure projects
