The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and mentorship for our electrical engineering team. While not primarily responsible for hands-on design, the role will oversee and review electrical system designs, guide younger engineers, and ensure high-quality deliverables across projects. Projects may include electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities, water and wastewater pump stations, and treatment facilities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of electrical engineering experience, with a track record of leading, mentoring, or supervising other engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, codes, and industry standards, with hands-on design experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent ability to review and critique designs and provide constructive guidance.
  • Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) or eligibility for licensure.
  • Proficiency with specialized engineering software, particularly AutoCAD, and related design tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of construction processes and field coordination, with the ability to support field engineers when necessary.
  • A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and review of electrical design for power, lighting, fire alarm, and control systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers in design processes, calculations, and code compliance.
  • Review project design criteria and ensure proposed solutions meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct technical reviews of electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and equipment selection prepared by team members.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to maintain design quality and project schedules.
  • Lead technical discussions with clients, contractors, and internal staff to resolve design issues and ensure compliance.
  • Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and providing guidance to field engineers as needed.
