About The Position

Perform production product failure analysis. Document, report and communicate results. Provide technical recommendations for solutions in support of production reworks and production first pass yield improvements. Perform customer return failure analysis, document's results and recommendations for communication to customers. Support Manufacturing Engineering as required including writing new production routings for new products, establishing labor time standards for each operation. Periodically review and update routings to conform or improve technique to reduce labor. Update active routings including proceedings, times (labor), documents included, such as special procedures, and tooling design. Work on procedures to help the integration of 3D printers into new product development and tool design. Develop and maintain robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with corporate accepted Lean manufacturing practices. Perform root cause and failure analysis as required. Implement methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrate ability to understand source(s) of variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies. Participate in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and maximize useful life of products. Apply Design for Manufacturing and Value Engineering practices as applicable. Act as technical liaison for products from inception through shipment to customer. Compose Capital Appropriation Requests for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies and improvements to existing technologies. Manage multiple projects and deliver to schedules on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.
  • Electronics experience including Maxim Chip, 30 Volt dc circuit, 20 MA circuit operation, digital current operation, discrete circuitry.
  • Understanding of problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause and corrective action - i.e. Thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, etc.
  • Understanding of engineering design and product reliability concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry and customer-specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 etc.).
  • Knowledge of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements (design/process interface).
  • Ability to develop and make special tooling and test stands encompassing all disciplines, communications, purchasing and pricing methods.
