Senior Electrical Engineer – LV/MV Switchgear Systems We are looking for a highly experienced electrical engineer with 7+ years of leadership in designing and managing low- and medium-voltage (LV/MV) switchgear systems. This role involves technical ownership of electrical control system design, team mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and direct support of manufacturing and field operations. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of industry standards, product development, and process improvement in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

  • Lead the design and development of complex electrical control systems for LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, and control panels—ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry codes (UL, NEC), and internal engineering standards.
  • Manage and execute designs using AutoCAD Electrical, including creating libraries, schematics, and bill of materials; support integration with mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks PDM.
  • Evaluate and specify electrical/electronic components for performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Oversee multiple engineering projects, coordinating with sales, project managers, manufacturing, testing, and field service to ensure deliverables are on schedule and within budget.
  • Interpret customer specifications, contracts, and technical documents to provide guidance and direction to design and engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers by developing training materials, documentation, and best practices that raise team competency and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing support across design, assembly, testing, and field service.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design standards, processes, tools, and system documentation to enhance quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to support component selection, cost reduction efforts, and product performance improvements.
  • Participate in the full product lifecycle, from concept and quotation through manufacturing, field commissioning, and post-project review.
  • Support up to 10% local travel to customer or supplier sites for technical and commercial engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically with LV/MV power distribution systems and control design.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical; hands-on experience with schematic design, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Deep understanding of switchgear, control panels, and electrical protection schemes for both AC and DC systems.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., UL, NEC, ANSI).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment and tools used in LV/MV applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical project execution, mentoring, and cross-functional communication.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar mechanical design environments.
  • Commercial or engineering experience in renewable energy, data centers, battery storage, or EV infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to integrate and troubleshoot across electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Skilled in project quoting, compliance reviews, and customer-facing technical discussions.
