About The Position

Sigma Design has collaborated with a medical technology company seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Bothell, WA. This position is contract or contract-to-hire, with an expected duration of at least one year. This role is in-office. While on contract you are eligible for: Multiple options for medical insurance and dental insurance including some with FSA and HSA 401(k) with up to 4% company match 15-days of accrued PTO and 9 company paid holidays Quarterly bonus program Voluntary benefits: vision, long-term disability, and life insurance Salary: $113,000-$172,000 Primary Function: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the development of complex medical electronic systems and provides technical leadership and electrical design support throughout all stages of product development. This role leads board- and system-level electrical development in an FDA-regulated environment, with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 6–8 years of experience as an electrical design engineer in medical device or consumer electronics environments
  • Experience leading complex product development from inception through launch
  • Strong working knowledge of system-level design, including analog front-end, A/D acquisition, digital signal processing, and complex electronic subsystems
  • Proven ability to manage conflict constructively and build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • ITAR: Must be a Permanent Resident of the United States (“U.S. person” as defined by ITAR), if applicable
  • Background: Must pass a post-offer background verification

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design efforts across the full development lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture, circuit design, layout, bring-up, system integration, testing, debugging, verification, deployment, and support
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in analog, digital, signal processing, and low-noise subsystem design
  • Perform architectural, system-level, and circuit-level electrical design
  • Develop project plans, including scope, requirements, schedules, and resource needs
  • Provide technical leadership on major projects and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Develop verification plans and execute electrical design verification testing
  • Guide critical product decisions to balance performance, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Assess, communicate, and drive resolution of technical risks, trade-offs, and design options
  • Apply broad knowledge of electronic engineering principles, practices, and procedures to complex assignments with cross-functional dependencies
  • Work cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, software development, experience design, program management, and other engineering disciplines
  • Coordinate internal teams, external partners, vendors, and third-party suppliers to deliver product solutions
  • Develop and manage relationships with external engineering resources and suppliers
  • Prototype and evaluate new technologies
