About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Test Systems Engineering (TSE) group. This role involves designing, fabricating, and installing Special Test Equipment (STE) for commercial and military engine testing. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement electrical control and data systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The position emphasizes innovation, diversity of thought, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and/or Controls, Power transmission or Power distribution Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of prior electrical or engineering work experience, or an Advanced Degree in Electrical and/or Controls Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of prior experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electrical relay logic design, motor control center design, and power and control wiring distribution.
  • Experience using AutoCAD to design electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Professional Engineer license holder familiar with compliance codes such as NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA 510.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools such as Six Sigma or CORE.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with multidisciplinary team to design and implement test facility electrical control and data systems.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand and define their requirements, proposing cost-effective solutions from concept to final design.
  • Identify improvements to Engineering Standard Work and provide training and knowledge transfer.
  • Interface with Engine Project Groups, Purchasing, and external vendors.
  • Collaborate with capital project managers on electrical design for new construction/renovation and writing requests for proposal documents.
  • Oversee vendors to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Review and approve project and construction drawings to ensure adherence to codes and standards.
