About The Position

We are seeking a Mid to Senior Level Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to support commercial and institutional MEP design projects in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This full-time role is responsible for leading electrical system design from early concept through construction phase services while coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The ideal candidate has strong experience in electrical building systems, technical leadership, and client engagement within a consulting engineering environment. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to high-profile developments throughout South Florida. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to take ownership of projects and advance within a growing MEP engineering practice in Fort Lauderdale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Mid to senior-level experience in MEP electrical design and project management
  • Strong understanding of NEC and electrical safety standards
  • Experience working in a consulting engineering or MEP firm environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and client presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems for commercial and institutional facilities
  • Prepare electrical load calculations, power distribution layouts, lighting designs, and technical specifications
  • Review and refine construction drawings to ensure accuracy and code compliance
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and engineering deliverables
  • Provide construction administration services including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and field observations
  • Participate in client meetings and present engineering concepts and solutions
  • Ensure compliance with NEC standards and all applicable local and national electrical codes
  • Maintain quality control standards across all project phases
