About The Position

V2X, located in Indianapolis, IN is searching for an energetic and highly motivated candidate to join its Electrical Hardware Engineering organization. The Senior Electrical Engineer I is responsible for specifying, designing, integrating, and testing circuit cards and modules for DOD ground and airborne applications. Candidates must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of the Electrical Hardware Development Team. It is essential for the individual to be capable of adapting to changing conditions and work cooperatively in a team environment. This role calls for someone who is accountable, self-taught, a good communicator, and raises his/her hand to help push the team forward. The position requires the candidate to troubleshoot circuit card manufacturing defects, working to support Root Cause Corrective Action reports, and synthesizing & communicating solutions to the wider product team. Initially the position requires the candidate assist in a production support capacity for a low rate initial production design. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked to design and develop circuit card assemblies (CCA) and modules such as test adapters and fielded systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer I should be experienced in most aspects of circuit card design from concept through delivery to higher level assemblies as evidenced by successful design completions (including hardware/firmware designs with microcontrollers or microprocessors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, UART). The candidate and team will be required to integrate aircraft AC power, low voltage DC control signals, ethernet, digital discrete input/output, and analog signals for the functional system. The candidate shall utilize simulation tools such as SPICE to model electronics behavior. The candidate shall design analog circuits to meet a set of requirements. The candidate shall perform component selection and schematic capture. The candidate shall guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of circuitry and technical drawing creation. The candidate shall utilize analysis tools like Mathcad and/or Matlab to assess electrical design robustness of circuitry. The candidate shall perform design reviews, equipment integration, equipment characterization, and testing which will require a high degree of onsite presence at a minimum of three days locally, immediately. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite; routine communication will occur through MS Teams, OneNote, Azure DevOps, Excel, and e-mail. Additional responsibilities include: Lead independent technical projects or contribute to system-level designs and analyses. Define design scope, execute advanced modeling or testing plans, and manage deliverables to meet milestones. Lead peer reviews, environmental testing campaigns, and design verification processes. Interface directly with customers to align technical solutions with program requirements. Mentor junior engineers, promoting department-wide process improvements. Operates with high independence under project management guidance.
