We are headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. We are seeking a Senior Electrical / Electronic Engineer to support our Navy customer in Pax River, MD.

Requirements

  • 15 years of providing electrical / electronic support to the US Navy AND a Masters degree.
  • OR 20 years of providing electrical / electronic support to the US Navy AND a Bachelors degree.
  • A bachelor’s OR master’s degree in computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and contribute to concept and feasibility studies related to electrical systems for ships, boats, and craft.
  • Collaborate in contract design activities, detail design, and construction activities, ensuring efficient and effective electrical system integration.
  • Participate in in-service ship design and engineering activities, providing expertise in electrical systems for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Offer support for shipboard electrical system installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and performance requirements.
  • Engage in special studies that address specific electrical system challenges and opportunities in shipbuilding.
  • Facilitate and provide the required technical information expertise to Integrated Process Teams (IPTs), special advisory boards, off-sites, working groups and audit teams.
  • Perform research and work along with USCG, ABS, and other key stakeholders, such as the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
  • Design and analyze power distribution systems for ships, considering safety, redundancy, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other ship systems.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical safety regulations and standards throughout the shipbuilding process.
  • Support shipboard testing of electrical systems, verifying performance and functionality.
  • Implement strategies to optimize electrical system performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior electrical engineers in the shipbuilding team.
