About The Position

Wilson & Company’s Kansas City, Missouri office is currently seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Design Lead to support the electrical practice area team within the Private Infrastructure organization. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a wide variety of clients, including federal organizations (i.e. DOD, DOE, etc.). This position will have a primary focus on the daily operations of designing projects and interoffice collaboration with staff and team members. Requirements

  • To be considered, the candidate must have working knowledge and familiarity with electrical design codes and software. This should include NFPA 70, NESC, IEEE books, Applicable National Fire Protection Association.
  • Software to include: AGi32 or Equal Lighting Calculation Software, CADD software (i.e. Revit, AutoCAD or MicroStation), Power modeling software is a plus (i.e. SKM Powertools or equal).
  • Associate’s degree, or greater, in computer aided Drafting or Design (equivalent design experience will be considered)
  • Twelve plus years of experience in the design of electrical projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple team members and coordinate effectively with other engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Supports company’s strategic objectives, processes, and tools.
  • Lead and support a variety of electrical design projects ranging from building lighting and power to rail yard power distribution to water treatment plan lighting, power and controls.
  • Perform electrical calculations, i.e. lighting calculations or voltage drop calculations
  • Actively lead and mentor electrical designers and CADD Technicians on electrical design projects.
  • Perform and attend site observations, meetings, walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Perform and ensure compliance with Wilson & Company’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance standards.
  • Actively work with other offices and practice areas within the Company.
  • Monitor compliance with firm-wide safety policies.
